Night Moves: Observatory by Lewis deSoto

When you drive or walk by the ICA at night, check out the night-time projection Observatory by Lewis deSoto. It combines the snow from analog TV (remember snow?!) with sound recordings from outer space including solar wind off Uranus and radio emissions from Jupiter.  Some believe snow is intelligible data from other civilizations. Set alongside the audio of the outer space sounds, the work makes you wonder if there is meaning to this random visual noise and sound – is there life beyond our universe?
