“Lewis is an exciting and important artist”

So says Anthony Torres – writer, curator, lecturer, appraiser and art historian — who will be joining Lewis deSoto on the ICA Talking Art stage on Thursday, March 12. Since 2008, when they collaborated on The Question is Known: (W)here is Latin American/Latino Art? at the MCCLA to interrogate and reflect on issues related to Latino(a) artists and art practices, and again when they met at the Di Rosa Preserve to discuss deSoto’s exhibition Tales of Power, both men continue to unravel the layers that reveal their histories, heritages, experiences, aesthetic interests, and views.

Please join us on Thursday the 12th. It’ll be a great evening of art, talk, talent and tales. Stop by the ICA from 6 to 7 to tour Lewis’ fabulous show and then we’ll all meet at MACLA just a few doors down where things’ll get underway at 7. Looking forward to it!
